How to Manually Upload a CSV Bank Statement in Tabby
Use this guide when uploading a CSV or Excel file exported from your bank
In the left sidebar, click Bank Connections.
On the Bank Connections page, look for the Upload Bank Statements panel on the right side of the screen.
Click the Upload Statements button to proceed.

You will land on the Upload Statement page. Two things to do here:
• ① Select your bank account from the dropdown under Step 1.
• ② Click the Template button (top right of the upload area) to download the CSV template.

pen the downloaded template and organize your bank statement data to match its format exactly.
The template requires three columns:
• date — transaction date (e.g. 12/27/2024)
• description — payee or transaction name (e.g. DUNKIN MOBILE AP)
• amount — use negative numbers for expenses, positive for income (e.g. -10.00 or 502.63)
Save your file as .CSV or .XLSX when done.

Back on the Upload Statement page, click to upload or drag and drop your CSV or Excel file into the upload area.
The file will show a progress bar and display 100% when loaded successfully.
You can upload up to 12 files at once.
To add more files, click Add more files (1/12) below the uploaded file.

Once your file is uploaded and your bank account is selected, click the Save and Review button.

After clicking Save and Review, a confirmation modal will appear:

Scroll down to the Uploaded Documents table on the same page.
Wait 1-2 minutes for processing to complete. The status will update to Needs Review with a Done estimated time.
Click the Review button on your uploaded file row to open the transaction review screen.

The Review screen shows all transactions extracted from your file. Use the controls at the top right:
• Flip Amount — flips the sign of ALL transactions at once. Use if all amounts are showing in the wrong direction.
• + Add Transactions — manually add any transaction missing from your file.
• Review & Submit — finalizes and imports all transactions into Tabby.
You can also flip individual transactions:
• Each row has a flip icon (⇄) next to its amount. Click it to flip just that one transaction.
Use the tabs at the top to navigate:
• For Review — all transactions from your file. Check amounts and descriptions before submitting.
• Duplicates — transactions flagged as potential duplicates. Review carefully before submitting.
When everything looks correct, click Review & Submit. Your transactions are now imported into Tabby.
